Spring Clean Your Body

Do you have an urge to clean your house in the past few weeks or month? It’s most likely because it’s spring time. Spring is a time for renewal and cleansing. Having to come out of winter where the energy is more reserved and stagnant, it is natural to want to move and refresh our surroundings and our body. 

Many patient always ask me when is an ideal time to cleanse. Well, this is the perfect time to do a cleanse. You can do a three day cleanse or ideally a one week cleanse. When doing a cleanse, I suggest alternating between veggie broth, veggies juice and bone broth. Along with the juices and broth, supplement with lean protein like turkey, chicken, and fish.

Sample Detox Menu:

First thing in morning:
Drink 8-12oz room temperature water with half lemon juice

Breakfast: 
Steel cut oats with chis seeds or flax seeds, cinnamon, walnuts and pumpkin seeds 

Snack:
Green veggie juice
1 apple

Lunch:
Lean protein with a side of veggies
Veggie broth made out of dark leafy veggies

Snack:
Green veggie juice
Any berries

Dinner:
Lean protein with a side of veggies
Chicken or beef bone broth 

Take 1-2pills of probiotics before bed.

Suggested veggies good for cleanse and also in season during spring time: 

  • Asparagus

  • Broccoli

  • Bean sprouts

  • Beet greens 

  • Chard

  • Cucumber

  • Celery 

  • Kale

  • Spinach

  • Mushrooms

Avoid:

  • Alcohol

  • Coffe

  • Sugar

  • Gluten
